SAVE THE DATE

The Canterbury branch is excited to be partnering with our peers in UDF, NZPI and more to put on this event  – save the date of 1 October 2021! Please note that this event will be safely organised in COVID Alert Level 1 or 2.

Politicians, developers, health professionals, engineers, designers,

Our population is aging. It’s essential that the design of our city – community facilities, businesses, housing and public spaces – meets the physical and cognitive needs of an aging population. We all need to better understand and contribute to making our city more age-friendly.

Helping to address the wide-ranging and emerging challenges for our aging population has benefits for all  – for those who are older and those not yet!

Part 1 Lunch walk – 12 noon to 1pm starting at Tūranga Christchurch Central Library

Small group guided walk around the central city to raise awareness of the issues an aging population face (this means 40 years plus!)

Part 2 Workshop – 1pm to 3pm at TSB Room on Level 1 at Tūranga Christchurch Central Library

A deeper dive into age related issues and actions, including governance, long term strategy and design solutions to support an age friendly environment.

The workshop attendance cost is $10 for professionals, and free for students / advocates / unwaged. Lunch will be provided.

Come to one or both!

Please register here, with further details to come.
